Bagman500
A downloadable game
# Bagman (68K)
Bagman remake by JOTD in 2010-2023
Original game by Valadon Automation (c) 1982
ROM strings show that it has been coded by Jacques Brisse (still head of Valadon in 2015 at least)
Game has been resourced (Z80) and A.I & speeds extracted from the first versions. Now the Amiga version
uses 99% of the transcoded original code for better accuracy.
Music never loses the tempo.
Highscore entry fixed (could not enter "Z" in highscores)
Sound use samples.
Game still has original bugs left
History:
2010: first SDL version (Windows, Amiga - super slow)
2015: fixed a lot of bugs on SDL version
2019: Amiga version (needs 68020+ and fastmem, still slow)
2023: Amiga version using real game code transcoded to 68000 (should run on A500)

Thanks, great game. I also added it to my October Amiga games video.
thanks. The video is short enough & nice.
I would love to see a version of the classic 1983 Mario Bros Arcade. But with the QOL option of muting the footstep sound effects, and perhaps a more modern control scheme similar to the one we had on the NES in Europe. Your work is outstanding regardless, mate!.
Very nice arcade conversion! Our German-language review can be found in our recorded livestream starting at 03:30:11. Subscription to our YouTube or Twitch channel is welcome. 🙂
Excellent port of one of the funniest games in the era. Thanks a lot! It IS the real game and that's always a plus. May I suggest Jungle Hunt o Rock'n Rope for next project? :)
Jungle Hunt... Good one.
Hi! I tried it on two Amiga with Pistorm and it doesn't work, do I need to change any options?
I correct myself, it doesn't work with Pistorm Musashi and Workbench 3.1 but it works with Pistorm Emu68k and CaffeineOS
Thank You so much for this other great arcade port.
Amiga users are very happy with your games.
:)
thanks a lot!
Lovely lovely JOTD. Is there an ADF on the way?
yes, just added it. Found a possible bug where you have to reboot first else game freezes (same as Galaxian). Will fix later. Enjoy
Thanks so much! I'm an ADF stalwart. I find them easier to work with than HDD files :-)
Nice game!
Excellent! Thank you. ;-)
.zip? Please consider providing a standard AmigaOS LhA archive?
will be done when version is more mature
Thanks! I'd appreciate it if you can please also upload the archive to Aminet. Thank you!
