Just saw the review in Zzap!Amiga and checked it out.

It looks great and runs pretty much arcade perfect too.

Although I tried it on my A600GS, and there it ran a bit slow and exhibited a few bugs. I set it up for stock A1200 settings and it was still a little slow and buggy there... pity, that's where I wanted to play this.

Don't now if you can do anything on your end to make it compatible of if it might be something in the A600GS's emulation though... I don't know... although your other previously released games all seem to run fine on the A600GS...

sorry to hear that. But you could try to set your emulation to ECS and see if ECS version runs properly (there are 2 versions with completely different graphics engine)

Thanks for your reply.

I tried the ECS version, I set it up on my A600GS as A500Plus 1MB chip 1MB fast and it runs at correct speed, but still somewhat buggy. Still quite playable though, and I know I'll play it when I have my GS on (I have always loved this game).

Pity it won't run 100% correctly on my A600GS though, and as I said, other games from your collection work, I have tried Pheonix and Moon Patrol both in AGA mode and they run 100% perfect on the GS.

Thank you for this, here is my tribute...

If this version needs 1MB chip ram, then maybe it can be called Elevator Action A600 ? Or if it needs 2MB then A1200?  I cant run it on an A500 setup.

Renaming is not an option at this point. I already have a OCS version running without sound. Minimal sounds are even possible.

I see. The way I got around this issue with one of my games was to speed up the sound samples by 2 octaves, so they squeeze down to just one third of the original size. Then just play those back at 300% slower speed.  Thats how they did it with the Domark Star Wars game, so just an idea.

I took another path (because sfx were taking really too much space), silenced some sfx & music, only left a few ones (shoot, jump, die, fall...) and it's not so bad, and it runs on OCS.

Absolutely superb work. Slightly unclear as to whether it works on an OCS machine?

No, it doesn't work on OCS, it requires 1MB chip memory.

How about an ECS version with full SFX for machines with 2 MB ChipRAM?

ECS version has full sfx already.

Nice arcade conversion! Our German-language review can be found in our recorded livestream starting at 02:23:46. English subtitles are also available. Subscription to our YouTube and Twitch channel is welcome. 🙂

Really good new Amiga game, great that you got the release version ready. I added it to my latest video "Gameplay of New Amiga Games from September 2024", which also includes all the other recently released Amiga games.

Awesome - final release!

Hi Im making a c64 version of this and was wondering if you reverse engineered the arcade roms to get enemy logic and elevator logic?

yes, I did, and you can find the reversed source on github. But I didn't dig too deep in the logic, just could transcode it faithfully.

You should name it Elevator Explorer. ;) Sounds funny.

Nice :) - beta version:

Just a file naming inconsistency:

site says we download the file: ElevatorAction_ADF.zip
actual file downloaded: ElevatorAction.zip

yes, I'll change that when I upload an update

Great game. A friend of mine played it:

This looks like a cool remake. Thank you

Will it work on A500?

An OCS version is planned, yes.

Perfect! :)

Awesome!
